Egypt: The nine-car Metropolis was demonstrated at the TransMEA exhibition. In spring, the vehicle rolled off the production line at the manufacturer’s site in Petite-Forêt, France.
The 98% recyclable train can accommodate 2,580 passengers. The interior features wide inter-car gangways and a special area reserved for women. The rolling stock is delivered with Alstom’s HealthHub predictive maintenance system. This digital solution is reported to save maintenance expenses by 20%, while the need for components is reduced by 15%.
