France: The five-car low-floor tram was presented at the depot of the city transport operator Keolis Besançon Mobilités. It is reported that the LRV will be undergoing trial operations till September, followed by the launch into revenue service.
Compared to the three-car Urbos 3 units by CAF, which are currently operating in the city, the Citadis cars achieve a 25% reduction in energy consumption, while maintenance costs are 18% lower. Alstom’s 32.5 m long trams can accommodate up to 200 passengers. The LRVs are said to be produced from 95% recyclable components.
