Singapore: The 50 ha SRTC, Singapore Rail Test Centre, allows comprehensive testing of trains and their signalling, power supply and supervisory control systems.
The SRTC includes a 2.8 km track with minimum curvature and gradients, designed for testing trains with speeds of up to 100 km/h. There are two more test tracks, each 3 km and 2.8 km long, respectively. The first one, looped track, has a section of uphill gradient and is used for traction and brake testing of rolling stock. The second one is an S-track, intended for testing compatibility with various infrastructure elements and signalling systems.
In addition, the Operations Control Centre Building with maintenance and refurbishment workshops can be found on the SRTC’s site.

The SGD 640 mln ($448.5 mln) contract to build the SRTC was signed with the Korean GS Engineering & Construction in spring 2020. The cost was later increased to SGD 800 mln ($593 mln). The first phase of the centre was opened in autumn 2023.
