USA: BNSF, one of the largest freight rail operators in the United States, plans to have 34 locomotives in service with these systems, the ODIN, by the end of the year and intends to fit a further 24 units thereafter.
Russia: TMH, Russia’s largest rolling stock producer, is steadily introducing the EMKA2, a dual-mode battery-electric shunting locomotive delivering zero harmful emissions. As the first vehicle of its kind in modern Russian rail history, EMKA2 combines innovative engineering with high operational efficiency.
In an interview with Ukrainian transport media CFTS, deputy head of the parliamentary committee on economic development, Mr Dmytro Kysylevskyi, who co-authored the 2021 localisation law, voiced strong concerns.

Ukraine: The French manufacturer has signed a contract with the national rail operator, Ukrzaliznytsia, following a tender process in which, according to the latter, more than 10 companies from Europe and Asia took part.
