Georgia: Prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze presented the plans at a government session on 8 April. According to him, Georgian Railway intends to acquire 50 locomotives, 1,500 wagons and 10 passenger trains.
China: A six-axle 3,000 kW shunter is now in service at a marshalling yard of the Port of Lianyungang. Lithium iron phosphate batteries with 3,360 kWh capacity provide traction, offering a 100 km range.

Belarus: In late 2025, the Belarusian government approved the Transport of Belarus state programme for 2026–2030 with funding of BYN 7.8 bln ($2.6 bln). The programme includes provision for renewing the fleet of railway and urban rail transport.
Tanzania: The SKD assembly of the 1,000 mm gauge H10 locomotives is organised at the workshop of TRC in Dar es Salaam.
USA, Canada: Early 2026 has seen sharp revival in the regional traction fleet market. Leading freight operators Union Pacific, CSX, Norfolk Southern and CPKC have announced major contracts with Wabtec and Progress Rail for new builds and modernisation of existing locomotives.
Russia: AVP Technology (part of TMH Smart Systems) has installed the obstacle detection system on a 3TE28 diesel loco running Russian Railways' Baikal-Amur Mainline. Trials ran from Tynda-Severnaya servicing depot, under LocoTech.
