Canada: CPKC has reported that a refuelling station was opened in the town of Golden last week.

This has enabled the H2 0EL No. 1200 with a hydrogen tender to begin regular service. The locomotive hauls gondola cars with coal between mines in the Elk Valley and Golden for the mining company Elk Valley Resources.

The H2 0EL No. 1200 is the third locomotive converted to hydrogen by CRRC. Unlike the other two, it has a hydrogen tender designed by HGmotive. The conversion has increased the locomotive power from 3.2 MW to 4.4 MW. HGmotive is now developing another tender with a higher capacity, which is expected to enter service in the middle of this year.
