Agreements and deals in the global rolling stock market.
Algeria — A total of DZD 138 bln (€990 mln) has been allocated by the government to purchase 400 passenger coaches and 600 locomotives. Delivery of the vehicles is expected within two to three years. This purchase is as part of the national operator SNTF’s programme aimed at rolling stock renewal between 2025 and 2035. Under the current programme, the operator is purchasing six EMUs and 12 locomotives.
France — The national operator SNCF is about to announce a tender for 180 passenger coaches and 30 locomotives for night trains. Of these, 120 coaches will replace those that have been in service for over 45 years. A further 60 coaches will be added to existing trains.

Russia — The Central Exurban Passenger Company, CEPC, plans to add 92 new EMUs to its fleet operating on the Yaroslavl commuter line, where the ED2T and ED4M trains are in service. By the end of the year, 15 EP2D trains built at the TMH plant in Demikhovo will be running on this line. All these activities are being carried out to implement the fleet renewal programme of the operator and the Moscow government. Once implemented, the average service life of the rolling stock will be between 3.5 and 17 years.
Slovakia — The national operator ZSSK is to renew up to 44 sleeper coaches. The first tender, with an initial price of €90 mln, is for the purchase of ten new or refurbished units, with an option for 14 and a 10-year maintenance. The second tender, valued at €36.5 mln, is for the conversion of 10 seated coaches to sleeper coaches, with an option for 10 units.
Kyrgyzstan — The national operator Kyrgyz Temir Jolu, KTJ, plans to purchase 36 new coaches, according to its deputy head Dastan Usubakunov. The company is reportedly negotiating with the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund for funding.

Nigeria — CRRC is preparing to deliver the next batch of six trains for the Lagos metro. According to the local media LAMATA, four-car trains have already been tested at a factory. The trains are being delivered under a 2015 contract, worth 4.7 mln, for 15 such trains. The first two of them were put in service in 2023.
