Recent contracts in the railway industry.
The national operator Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) plans to order 15 five-car push-pull trains with a maximum speed of up to 200 km/h and one locomotive at each end. The same contract is expected to include the purchase of an additional eight locomotives as a reserve and maintenance support for ten years. There are 18 such diesel trains from CAF and 26 high-speed Talgo 350. Earlier this year, SAR placed an order for ten Stadler vehicles.

Stadler will deliver 31 EMUs to Switzerland and Denmark. The railway operator of the canton of Zürich SZU has ordered 17 three-car single-deck FLIRTs, worth €170 mln. The same contract includes an option for another ten trains. The rolling stock is scheduled to enter commercial service in 2028–2029. The Danish operator Lokaltog ordered 14 battery-catenary FLIRT Akkus and may purchase another ten under an option in a contract signed with the Swiss operator following the tender announced in November 2023.

Softronic has been ordered six TransMontana electric locomotives by Romania and Hungary. Four vehicles are purchased by Romanian operators Constantin Grup (three units) and Transferoviar Grup (one unit), while the Hungarian freight operator CER Cargo expects to receive two v3.2 dual-system electric locomotives.
The Italian operator Tper has ordered up to eight DualShunter 2000 hybrid locomotives from CZ Loko. Two vehicles with diesel and catenary traction will be supplied as part of a firm part. The first ordered locomotive is ready. The operator ordered two such locomotives last year.
