Israel — Alstom completed the delivery of 63 Traxx electric locomotives for Israel Railways. The €235 mln contract was inked between Bombardier Transportation, acquired by Alstom in 2021, and the operator in 2015. A further 32 locomotives could be supplied as an option. The vehicles are designed to haul trainsets of single- and double-deck passenger cars.

Russia — Following the current year’s results, Grand Service Express plans to increase its fleet by 50–100 passenger cars, as the operator’s CEO, Alexander Ganov, said to the Ria Novosti news agency. He also noted that the fleet renewal is part of a long-lasting programme, which envisages purchase of about 300 passenger cars within three years.
Sweden, Norway — The leasing company Northrail signed a contract with Vossloh Rolling Stock, part of CRRC, to supply ten shunting diesel locomotives DE 18. The vehicles, to be delivered from the latter half of 2025, are intended for Sweden and Norway. The diesel locomotive, equipped with the Stage V engine, will also be able to run on HVO.

Italy — The national operator Trenitalia announced a frame tender to supply up to 42 rail-road locotractors. The firm order includes the delivery of four locotractor models, which should haul trainsets weighing from 300 to 4,000 t. The vehicle will be designed to work in the operator’s depots throughout the country.
