USA: The four-axle SWR18 with a rear cab has been delivered to the Joint Base Charleston in South Carolina.
This is the third diesel locomotive manufactured by Integral dx. Last year, the company supplied the front-cab 660 kW SWM9 shunters to the Navy and the Army. Currently, the American military fleet mainly includes locomotives produced in the 1950s.

The SWR18 shunter is fitted with two Caterpillar C27 diesel engines which generate a total output of 1,325 kW and comply with the Tier 4 Final emission standard. The applied permanent magnet 743RSL synchronous generators are produced by Marathon Electric. In addition, the vehicle utilises the modern microprocessor control and braking systems, while the running gear consists of the overhauled bogies and the EMD D77/D78 traction motors from the diesel locomotives built in the 1950s–1970s.
Integral dx, part of the Ritalka group of companies, is based in Minnesota. The manufacturer’s portfolio includes a family of shunting locomotives with a power varying from 660 to 1,360 kW, a weight of 74–163 t and a tractive effort of 210–378 kN, and, besides, customised solutions. Integral dx also specialises in the production and modernisation of track machines and other special-purpose vehicles.
