Türkiye: The state-owned manufacturer has shared a video from its Eskisehir plant on its LinkedIn page. The footage shows the production stages of traction motors, welding of bodyshells and bogie frames, assembly of electrical cabinets, and installation of equipment inside the bodyshell.
The E5000 mainline electric locomotive was developed by the Railway Transport Technologies Institute TÜBİTAK RUTE as part of the national strategy to develop domestic Turkish rolling stock production. The locomotive predominantly uses Turkish components and systems, including traction motors, converters, transformer, and control system. The four-axle unit has a power output of 5 MW and a maximum speed of 140 km/h. The locomotive meets European TSI requirements.
