Russia: The Telegram channel Bloknot Periskopa has shared a video of a trainset running the 531 km line. At the end of October, a TEM14 diesel locomotive hauled a train of 20 gondola cars, one passenger coach and one luggage coach from the Elga coal mine to Port Elga on the Pacific coast.

Regular freight services on the Pacific Railway are expected to start in the first half of 2025. The locomotives to be used on the non-revenue line are TEM14 shunting diesel locomotives and 2TE35A mainline diesel locomotives from Sinara – Transport Machines and 3TE28 mainline diesel locomotives from TMH. Following the announcement in 2022 that 15 units of various models would be purchased for the project, deliveries of the 3TE28s began this year.

According to Khabarovsk Krai Segodnya IA, ELSI, the owner of the Pacific Railway, is planning to buy 7,000 gondola cars with increased axle load and a payload of 77 t from an undisclosed supplier. Meanwhile, these cars are mostly produced by the United Wagon Company and Uralvagonzavod and the video shows railcars with bogies 18-9855 produced by the former.
