Germany: The Swiss leasing company has presented two new freight wagon designs, both of 22.5 tf of an axle-load, at the Transport Logistic trade fair in Munich.
The Shimmns TTU wagon, with a payload of 68.5 t, was developed in collaboration with Innovaction Systèmes for steel producer ArcelorMittal. The wagon was developed for optimised loading and unloading of steel coils and its automatic tarpaulin protects employees and load from unfavourable weather conditions.

The Tanoos 2.0 bulk freight wagon, meanwhile, is intended for the transport of highly corrosive bulk materials. It was developed in partnership with The Greenbrier Companies for German freight operator DB Cargo and fertiliser producer K+S Gruppe. Compared with the previous model, the frame has been shortened by 40 cm, reducing its weight by 1.5 t. At the same time, the loading volume has been raised by 3 m³ to 78 m³, while the payload capacity stands at 68 t. DB Cargo plans to lease up to 650 Tanoos 2.0 wagons and put them into service from the third quarter of 2025.
