Kazakhstan: Shota Abkhazava, TEXOL Group’s founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors, announced that information in his interview with the local TV channel Atameken Business.
“The designing process is already underway, and soon the construction and certification of freight cars for the 1,435 mm gauge tracks will commence. We are now discussing with two partners exactly our visions on freight transportation in Europe, and we expect our wagons to become a good offer for the European market,” Mr Abkhazava announced.
Last summer, wagon manufacturing was launched at the Atyrau Freight Car Building Plant, AVSZ, which is part of the TEXOL Group. The company has already started serial production of the in-house designed bogies, gondola cars, and flatcars. In addition, the facility is establishing its own manufacture of tank shells to be able to serially produce tank wagons, the first prototypes of which have been recently built in Atyrau. TEXOL envisages further enlarging of its portfolio, as stated by Shota Abkhazava exclusively for ROLLINGSTOCK. The full interview with the head of TEXOL will come during the TransLogistica Kazakhstan exhibition.
In early 2027, AVSZ plans to commence full-scale operation, with an expected production capacity of up to 8,000 freight cars per year.
