India: One of the largest Indian car builders has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nevomo, a Polish start-up.

The companies are planning to establish a research and development centre to design next-generation Nevomo self-propelled freight cars and elaborate AI-based predictive maintenance technologies.

According to the MoU, Nevomo’s MagRail technology will be integrated with Texmaco Rail’s rolling stock. The solution aims to equip an existing railcar with the linear motor, which enables the vehicle to move autonomously through interaction with the linear motor stator installed on the track centreline.

This year in February, Texmaco Rail signed another strategic agreement with the American car builder Trinity Rail. Likewise, a research centre (in Faridabad, India) is intended to be created by the partners. Additionally, Texmaco Rail will deliver components, including foundry products, to the USA, while Trinity Rail will support the Indian company in designing new freight wagons.
