Slovakia: The six-axle articulated basket car, designated Sdggmrss, has been developed for the transportation of containers and semi-trailers. Its key features is integrated removable baskets that are similar to those used by CargoBeamer technology.
The basket design offers a straightforward solution for logistics, reducing the need for external storage and associated costs. Moreover, the Sdggmrss is not dependent on the use of specialised loading cranes for semi-trailers. A basket car can carry two semi-trailers weighing up to 40 t each.

According to Tatravagónka, the basket car can be operated on both 1,668 mm and 1,435 mm tracks, making it a suitable choice for rail networks in Spain and Portugal. The car, including the integrated baskets, has already been certified for operation in the EU. The initial order was placed by MFD Rail, a Swiss intermodal transport operator, with plans to commence utilisation of the new vehicle in the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.
