Slovakia: One of the largest European freight car manufacturers has signed the relevant agreement with PJM, Austria’s supplier of digital solutions for rail transport. Now the Slovakian company will equip its wagons, produced at the Poprad plant, with the WaggonTracker sensors.

The solution allows for real-time brake and kingpin monitoring, as well as load weight analysis. The functionalities of the WaggonTracker digital system also include warning the train driver about possible faults, providing greater safety of operations.

Powered by a generator installed in the axle box and a battery, the WaggonTracker overall digital system can be integrated with various types of wagons. All the data is transferred via a local secure radio communication network onboard the train. PJM’s solution is also compatible with the future digital automatic coupling, DAC, which is planned to be fully introduced in Europe.
