Russia: The new vehicle is designed to transport perishable and non-perishable items, mainly food products. The recently acquired TR EAEU 001/2011 certificate allows for 5 years of serial production of the reefer car, till 2029.
The running gear is equipped with the 25 tf 18-9891 bogie produced in-house. The vehicle’s payload is 60 t, which is at least four tonnes more in comparison with a carrying capacity of similar refrigerator cars on the market, as stated by the manufacturer. The new reefer car features a cubic capacity of 132 m3, a floor area of 47 m2, and a length over couplers of 20.7 m. A design service life is 25 years.
The body and sliding plug doors are covered with heat-insulating materials. The refrigeration and heating unit, installed at the end of the car, is fitted with a built-in temperature and humidity remote control system.
The construction of such a railcar was announced by Maxim Tevs, General Director of RM Rail, in his interview for ROLLINGSTOCK in 2023. The project was backed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation that granted RUB 80 mln (USD 842,000) for the development of the new refrigerator car.
