Russia: The manufacturer’s subsidiary Ruzkhimmash has been granted permission for its serial production over a five-year period under the TR EAEU 001/2011 certificate.
The concept of the tank car was unveiled last year. The vehicle comprises two rigidly coupled railcars, each equipped with a boiler and two bogies with an axle load of 25 tf. The total body volume is 184 m³, with a payload of 150 t and a designated service life of 32 years.
The tank car has been developed for the Federal Freight Company, a subsidiary of Russian Railways. It was accepted by the national operator this spring, and the customer plans to buy up to 10,000 units, which can hold 14% more light and dark petroleum products than existing models when combined in a typical 988 m train.
