Poland: Poznań Institute of Technology has completed design and technical documentation for the 37TN bogie. The project, underway since 2023, is state-subsidised.

Such bogies are intended to equip six-axle wagons with an axleload not exceeding 22.5 tf. The additional axles will boost payload capacity. The solution enables transport of outsize cargo—including energy storage units, industrial equipment, and long/heavy loads (rails, steel structures, timber)—as well as military hardware exceeding 60 t.

The 37TN bogie features a lightweight yet robust and straightforward-to-manufacture design. Wagons fitted with it will attain 100 km/h laden and 120 km/h empty. Developers confirm full compliance with European TSI standards.

Tomasz Antkowiak of the institute states that series production preparation and certification will take no more than 18 months. Output could be undertaken by private Tabor Dębica or state-owned Polski Tabor Szynowy. No orders have been secured to date. Developers note that Poland has not previously produced six-axle freight wagons.
