Kazakhstan: Last week, the management of the national operator Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and Serik Shapkenov, the head of the Atyrau Oblast, visited the factory that TEXOL Group opened in the summer. Its first output, produced in July, includes gondola cars and flatcars.
The current factory area is 17,000 m², with plans to expand to 62,000 m² by 2027, capable of producing six to seven thousand railcars per year, including tank cars and articulated container flatcars with 25 ft bogies.

The minutes of the last meeting of the Wagon Sector Commission of the Council for Rail Transport of Community of Independent States indicate that by the end of June, there were more than 137,000 freight cars in Kazakhstan’s fleet (+1.2% YoY). According to the Association of Kazakhstan Freight Rail Carriers, the average age of the fleet is 15 years.
