According to 1520International, the press office of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) has announced intention to purchase 7,193 container flatcars by 2029. Earlier, its subsidiary Kaztemirtrans reported plans to purchase 1,500 gondola cars and 601 container flatcars this year. As of 2022, the Kazakhstan’s fleet of freight cars comprised 134,106 vehicles, including 2,741 flatcars, the Organisation for Cooperation of Railways states.

The national rail network operator Infrabel has signed a contract with Millet AFR, France, for the supply of up to 600 gondola cars. The contract is worth €69.3 mln and the delivery terms are not yet known.
The national operator KiwiRail has placed an order with PT Inka for 450 container flatcars. Delivery is expected to be completed next year, bringing the total number of different freight cars supplied by the Indonesian manufacturer to 712, including cars for the transport of wood and timber. Once again, the rolling stock will be developed by UGL, Australia.

Greenbrier Europe has delivered the first batch of 19 autoracks to the country under a contract with Milsped, a logistics service provider, for 1,000 such vehicles. The four-axle Laaers L08A has a length over buffers of 31 m and a payload of 34 t.
