Contracts and deals in the freight car market.
Brazil — Greenbrier and Wabtec will supply 979 freight cars and 23 locomotives to COFCO, an agricultural holding company. The rolling stock, worth BRL 1.2 bln ($216 mln) will be used to transport corn and sugar in the country starting in the first quarter of 2026. The production facility selected for the order is a joint venture between Greenbrier, Amsted Rail and Iochpe-Maxion in the state of São Paulo.

Iran — The car builder Derakhshan Iron & Steel has inked a contract with One Holding for the supply of 600 tank cars. It is said to be the largest order in Iran for this type of cars. The first batch is expected to enter commercial service this month.
Pakistan — A delivery of 115 flatcars from a joint venture between Baotou Beifang Chuangye and Pakistan Railways will be completed by April. These vehicles are being supplied under a framework agreement signed in 2021, which includes 820 gondola cars, flatcars, box and brake cars. In 2022, the first batch of cars was imported from China, and two years later, 115 gondola cars assembled by the joint venture entered service. Flatcars are assembled in Lahore and gondola cars in Risalpur.
UAE, Oman — CRRC will supply freight cars to Hafeet Rail, an operator of the rail network linking the two countries. The value and scope of the contract have not been disclosed. It is only known that the rolling stock will be used to transport freight, including bulk, and containers.
Russia — The State Transport Leasing Company GTLK will for the first time supply refrigerated cars for leasing. According to GTLK, the rolling stock will be manufactured at Ruzkimmash, a subsidiary of RM Rail, and delivered by the end of March. The scope and models have not been disclosed, while it is known that the manufacturer produces refrigerated cars 16-1239 and autonomous refrigerator cars 16-1247.
