Italy: The joint venture of MSC, a container shipping operator, and Innofreight, a logistics company, has built two InnoWaggon container flatcars. These are to be delivered to Austrian Yellow2Rail and Papierholz Austria.

The type Sggrss four-axle 80 ft InnoWaggons are intended to transport refrigerated and ISO containers. They can also carry Innofreight’s special containers for various types of materials.

The freight wagons are equipped with the new Innobogie bogies, which have a number of advantages in comparison with the previous models. As reported, they boast 25% lighter weight, reduced wear of wheel sets and adaptation for different track gauges.

By 2027, the plant in Trieste is expected to be fully operational with an annual capacity of 1,000 freight cars and 3,000 bogies. At the same time, the site’s staff will be increased from a current 50 to 260 employees. Previously, the Trieste plant belonged to Finland’s marine engine manufacturer Wärtsilä.
