UK: The leasing company VTG Rail UK delivered a batch of 34 F07C hoppers to Mendip Rail. Under the contract dated March 2023, a total of 203 such hoppers are to be supplied by May 2025.
The vehicles are manufactured at the Greenbrier plant in Świdnica, Poland. They are designed to replace several models of hoppers, which have been in operation by Mendip Rail for almost 35 years.
The new cars will transport limestone from the Mendip Hills quarry to the UK’s south-east. Each train usually consists of 40–50 hoppers and box cars.
