Russia: The ceremony dedicated to starting serial production of the 15-6758 LPG tank cars took place on 8 November.
At the event, the first batch of the vehicles was presented to the launch customer Gazpromtrans, a subsidiary of Gazprom, according to the Bryansk region’s administration. In October, the plant received a certificate allowing for serial production of the tank car.
The Garant Rail Service car repair company and the Transfin-M leasing company founded NovoTechRail back in 2021, on the base of the former Novozybkov machine-building plant. Welcoming the participants of the ceremony, Aleksandr Bogomaz, Governor of the Bryansk region, mentioned NovoTechRail investors, namely Sergey Gushchin, the previous owner of Rail Service, and Sergey Kaletin, General Director of the SG-Trans operator.
The production facility in Novozybkov commenced its work in 2022 with manufacturing finished axles. Further, NovoTechRail’s box cars have been also certified for serial production, while the gondola cars, autonomous reefer cars, and container flatcars are prepared to be brought to the market. The Novozybkov plant will reportedly produce over 2,000 cars per year, when operating at full capacity.
