China, Mexico: The solution is structured under the CRRC System+ model, encompassing financing, supply of new rolling stock, line operation, comprehensive signalling system refurbishment, and maintenance services.

The first such project was implemented in Mexico City, where the renovated Pink Line of metro reopened in mid‑November. For this line, CRRC supplied 29 NN‑22 two‑car rubber‑tyred trainsets. It is worth noting that 27 of these sets were 65% manufactured in China, with final assembly—requiring 35% of localization—taking place at a new plant in Querétaro, Mexico.

CRRC secured a $1.5 bln PPP‑based concession contract in 2020, which included a 4‑year refurbishment period followed by 15 years of operation. The project involved several partners: Spanish company Comsa was responsible for track and electrical system upgrades, while Siemens Mobility equipped the line with CBTC signalling system.

CRRC is now actively pursuing broader application of the System+ model in South America. A current example is a contract for two monorail lines in Monterrey, Mexico, which includes the supply of 13 six‑car trainsets for the project.
