USA: The Stadler Board of Directors has decided to bolster its US headquarters, which is currently part of the Swiss division.
As of 1 January 2025, it will convert to its own division, headed by the current CEO Martin Ritter. Stadler says this move will contribute to business development in the country. The company’s main asset in the US is an assembly plant, established in Salt Lake City in 2019, with 500 employees.
Stadler’s backlog in the country grows every year. Over the last two months only, the company secured orders to supply up to 80 Citylink tram trains to Salt Lake City and four FLIRT DMUs to Fort Worth. Previously, the manufacturer had been selected to deliver unmanned metro trains to Los Angeles. In addition, it received an order to supply up to 16 BEMUs to Chicago and 30 FLIRT H2 hydrogen trains to California.
