German components producer has closed a deal to acquire Swiss electronics and signalling technology supplier duagon. The purchase price is estimated at approximately €0.5 bln.

Knorr-Bremse is forecasting an increase in operating income of between €5 mln and €10 mln by 2028 due to the generated synergies. duagon has demonstrated reported annual revenue growth averaging around 15% from 2022 to 2025. For the current year, with revenues of around €175 mln, the company expects to achieve an operating margin of around 16%, excluding costs associated with its integration into Knorr-Bremse.

Founded in 1995, duagon specialises in electronics, communication modules, computing platforms and software for the railway industry. The company’s products are used in train onboard systems and ground-based signalling equipment, among other applications.

With a workforce of around 1,000 employees, duagon operates primary production centres in Dietikon, Switzerland, and Nuremberg, Germany. The company also has offices in the United States, Australia, China, India, France and Spain. Its products are supplied to markets in Europe, Asia, North America and Australia.
