India, Malaysia: The manufacturers have entered into a partnership in terms of supply and maintenance of rolling stock products for the markets of Southeast Asia and Africa.

The collaboration also involves joining efforts in aggregating rolling stock components, as well as cooperation in engineering of rail transport and tailoring the products to meet client-specific requirements. Besides, the companies plan to mutually exchange technologies to provide cost optimisation for research and development.

Currently, BEML is performing a number of contracts for the delivery of nearly 900 metro cars for Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, and also ten Vande Bharat sleeper EMUs (160 cars in total) for Indian Railways.

In its turn, SMH Rail focuses on manufacturing of DMUs and EMUs, metro cars, diesel locomotives, freight cars, and track machines. As part of a joint venture with Medha Servo Drives (India), SMH Rail is co-producing monorail trains for Mumbai.
