Germany: A number of German media reports this news. The producer is said to hold talks with several mechanical engineering companies.

All the 700 employees were informed, and Alstom told Railway Gazette that its collective agreements would continue to apply until March 2026.

The Görlitz plant was inherited by Alstom after its Bombardier Transportation acquisition in 2021. Currently, the site produces double-deck electric trains for Israel Railways and Deutsche Bahn as well as trams for Leipzig.

Previously, the German press published Alstom’s plans to relocate its production from Görlitz to Katowice and Wrocław, Poland, after 2026. Alstom said that it had taken over loss-making and difficult to implement contracts and announced plans to optimise the acquired assets.
