Belarus: A certificate of conformity under technical regulation TR CU 001/2011 has been issued to Stadler Minsk, the Belarusian subsidiary of the Swiss rolling stock manufacturer, valid for five years.

The approved welded frames are intended for passenger coaches. Such rolling stock is currently being assembled by the Swiss manufacturer in Astana under a major contract with the national operator Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.

This is the first certificate since early 2022 that Stadler has received declaring the manufacture of components in Fanipol, Belarus. Two other certificates obtained by Stadler Minsk were related to software for the control systems of FLIRT electric multiple units supplied to the country. During this period, several certificates for the series production of components imported into the EAEU were granted to Stadler Kazakhstan. In addition, in January, certificates for the series production of wheelsets in Azerbaijan were, for the first time in several years, issued to the Russian subsidiary Stadler Rus.

Stadler’s rolling stock production in Belarus was officially declared suspended in 2022. The company stated that only mechanical work with components was permitted in Fanipol and that full-scale production could resume once sanctions were lifted. In the autumn, Belarusian Railway announced the signing of a contract for the production of 65 trains in Fanipol, but Stadler denied this, noting it was not ready to restart manufacturing in Belarus under the current sanctions regime.
