Spain: The logistics company, a subsidiary of the national operator Renfe, has adopted a system of IoT devices from Teralco Solutions, a local tech developer.
Under the 2023 project, a fleet of 350 vehicle-carrying wagons has been equipped with sensors for temperature and humidity control, GPS navigation and accelerometers, which can be configured remotely.
In addition, Teralco Solutions has developed a special application to track the real-time location of wagons as well as each vehicle’s time and points of loading/unloading. This has enabled Pecovasa to trace around 25,000 vehicles, transported by the company monthly. Besides, the integrated artificial intelligence can analyse the collected telemetry data, allowing for predictive diagnostics of the technical condition of the autoracks.
A total of €590,000 has been allocated to the project, including a contribution of €180,000 from European funds.
