Russia: Kirill Lilo, head of the business support centre in the Kaliningrad region, informed Interfax.

Mr. Lilo confirmed that the tests of the first sample TSP-168/3 transformer have been successfully completed on a train, paving the way for the new device to replace the original Siemens product.

The company was granted a soft loan for the purchase of a test bench and a laser cutting unit, which are necessary for serial production of transformers.

Founded in 2021, Ex Trafo has established the production of electric motors, electric generators and transformers with high-voltage composite insulation (RGF), as well as other electrical equipment.

At present, Russian Railways is operating 20 Sapsan EMUs. VSM-Service, the maintenance company currently replacing imported components with Russian-made ones, has previously announced the introduction of analogues of coupler contacts, bearings, brake discs, and the mastering of the repair of hydraulic dampers.
