France: The start-up company DirectTrainS has tested the solution on two 22.5 tf bogies. The technology provides for automatic coupling and decoupling of rolling stock while in motion, at speeds of up to 120 km/h.
During testing, there was no spillage from a cardboard cup placed on the fixture, which proved stable and smooth operation of the new system. Meanwhile, one wagon did not move in the process of coupling, while decoupling was performed at a low speed, as can be seen in the video recorded.

DirectTrainS plans to proceed to operational tests in collaboration with freight operators and parcel delivery companies on main lines with various signalling systems. It is reportedly possible to integrate the technology with no need to change infrastructure, signalling systems, or regulations. The developers expect their solution to become relevant for both passenger and light freight transportation.
