RailPulse is a joint venture of leading North American operators and railcar manufacturers united to accelerate the adoption of telematics technologies across the freight rail industry. The RailPulse platform delivers telematics solutions of several companies. Earlier this year, a similar reseller agreement was signed with Nexxiot, Switzerland.
The IQ Series telematics ensures real-time monitoring of freight cars in terms of location, mileage, and load status. When the Bogie IQ devices are mounted on bogies, onboard health monitoring is additionally provided, with the wheel health, brake slide events, impact differential detection, and other parameters tracked online. It is reported that the system is autonomous, and the installed gateways can be updated through over-the-air firmware upgrades.
