Sweden: The products from the Ukrainian manufacturer were produced to order for the wagon builder Kiruna Wagon.

The wheelsets are intended to equip wagons used in ore transport to one of Sweden’s steelworks. It is noted that rolling stock with 25-tf axle loads was previously operated at the facility.

According to Interpipe, the design of the new wheels features the minimum diameter for 35-tf axle loads. The wheelsets were developed to the customer’s individual specifications, exceeding EU standards, particularly regarding AAR-class wheel steel.

Interpipe previously announced plans to increase wheelset production for Europe to 22,500 units by 2026. The company expects to invest $120 mln in developing railway wheel production, with the relevant investment programme running until 2032. At the same time, the company reported shipping 89,000 t of railway products in 2025, which is a third down on the previous year.
