Denmark: Kineco, one of the leading Indian companies in the composites industry, has acquired Semvac from US-based Wabtec. The purchase price for 100% of the shares was not disclosed.

According to the Indian company, the acquisition will enable it to increase its presence in the global rail market.

Established in Denmark in 1984, Semvac has supplied more than 19,000 vacuum toilets worldwide. Its current backlog of orders includes the maintenance of the toilets installed on Alstom trains and the trains operated by national operators in Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

For the railway industry, Kineco also manufactures train masks, interiors, seats and toilets. In 2022, the company won a major contract from ICF to supply 68 masks for Vande Bharat trains. It is also one of only two companies in India approved to participate in projects to supply interiors for new and upgraded trains.
