Norway: The German company will supply 34 FrontAdd units for 17 FLIRT Nordic Express long-distance trains ordered from Stadler by the Norwegian operator Norske tog. The first vehicles are to enter service in late 2026.
The key element of the FrontAdd System is a corrugated bellows installed onto the front coupling of the train. According to Hübner, this innovative solution protects the components, including cables and the motor, from environmental impacts. In addition, it improves the aerodynamics which allows for a reduction in energy consumption of approximately 2%. The FrontAdd System also ensures better sound insulation which reduces noise levels in the driver’s cab.
