Türkiye, China: A joint venture between the French producer and Shanghai Electric Group, HATEE, has been established in Hefei.
The new company will be responsible for the production, design and maintenance of traction systems and components, with trial production set to commence in October.
Alstom anticipates that HATEE’s capacity for the production, maintenance, and upgrade of up to 1,500 traction systems per year will be increased within a period of eight to ten years. The traction systems will be supplied to customers in both China and overseas markets.
In Türkiye, the French producer has acquired Duray Ulasim Sistemleri in Bursa from the local tram builder Durmazlar. The factory, which employs over 200 people, specialises in the production of bogies and car bodies. Alstom plans to integrated it into its global supply chain.
