USA, Germany: Knorr-Bremse entered the transport telematics market, announcing the equipment of products with technical condition monitoring sensors. Wabtec and Trinity Rail continued to introduce new telematics platforms.
Russia: A single sample of a crane with a lifting capacity of 150 t received the EAEU conformity certificate. The vehicle was developed with the R&D financial support from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Poland: In September, FPS will present the Plus hybrid train, powered by a diesel engine and batteries, at InnoTrans and plans to participate with it in the Polregio tender for 200 trains.
Belarus: The national railway operator has put into operation the last EPm FLIRT EMU under a contract for the supply of 10 trains of this series. The vehicle was produced at the Stadler Minsk plant, which activities are now limited due to sanctions.
Russia: 42 three-section and 12 two-section low-floor trams, styled on the rolling stock of the 1950s and 1960s, are expected to be delivered from 2023.
Kazakhstan: Together with the production site, the manufacturer will receive an order for 500 units of rolling stock. The financial aspects of the deal are now being discussed, although the tender has been going on since 2020.
Ukraine: The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office announced the opening of criminal proceedings against officials of one of the largest freight and passenger rolling stock manufacturers in the country.
Since the beginning of the year, Alstom has signed several contracts for the supply of more than 60 LRVs for transportation systems in Latin America and Europe, but terminated a large contract in India.
Switzerland: The manufacturer won the tender for the supply of up to 510 FLIRT trains for the SBB operator and its two subsidiaries back in October 2021. However, the contract was not awarded then due to Alstom's complaint.
